Le Mas des Oliviers

Mixed feelings. The place certainly has a unique charm and is very pretty. The menu is certainly attractive. The dishes are good, although the sides are bland. But, at this price, one expects a minimum level of service: smiling, attentive, and caring staff were lacking, and air conditioning would be welcome during the heatwave.

Hello, The setting is very pleasant, as is the overall atmosphere. We received a very warm welcome. It was a bit noisy, but we were on the veranda and all the windows were open. The proximity to the road is largely to blame, and the restaurant is in no way responsible; when everything is closed, it must be very quiet. The food is excellent, the dishes are appealing, and the ingredients are of good quality, from appetizers to desserts. There's a nice selection of whiskies and wines served by the glass. Unfortunately, the service seemed a bit disorganized. One of the waiters had a large stain on his polo shirt (it can happen in this line of work, but he changed his clothes) and was only average in terms of politeness and friendliness. Furthermore, at the end of our meal, the person responsible for clearing and cleaning the tables started on a neighboring table. She began by wiping the table, then the backs of the chairs, and then went back over the table with the same cloth. This was a bit questionable in terms of hygiene. So, there you have it. We're very satisfied with everything: the welcome, the aesthetics, the atmosphere, the setting, and the food, but the service could be improved. Perhaps it was just an off day; it happens.

We had clearly been forgotten. We asked why we weren't being served when the other people who arrived after us were already having dessert. In a very gracious gesture, to their credit, they offered us complimentary drinks. However, the dishes were unbalanced and poorly prepared. The flavors and textures were lacking. The fruit salad for dessert was meager (a few strawberries, a few orange and grapefruit segments) with no flavor or flair. For the price, it wasn't worth it. I will not return to this establishment.
